The Stowaway iki Surfin Monkey tiki mug is a gloss BROWN glazed stoneware tiki mug designed by BigToe, a cartoony homage to the famous Tijuana trip souvenir surfing monkey chalkware bank.
I was inspired to design the “Surfin’ Monkey” tiki mug and pin for Stowaway Tiki because they are a perfect mid-century tiki escape in Orange County. From the perfectly mixed tropical cocktails to the yummy cocktail-friendly small bite dishes and kitschy fun decor, you will definitely have a big grin on your face at Stowaway Tiki, so the quintessentially goofy Surfin’ Monkey seemed to me like a natural mascot for the bar. I grew up surfing in Southern California from Rincon to the Southern tip of Baja, and its high time the classic TJ surfari icon Surfin’ Monkey was immortalized with a tiki mug and pin!
